The 15th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition 2023

Regulation

 

1. Date: August 14 -18, 2023

7. Competition events: (See Appendix 1)

(1) Wushu taolu series (including different kinds of quanshu, weapons in sing., pair, confrontation and group routine series, group event, wingchunquan series, etc.)

(2) Confrontation and Wrestling event (including sanda, tuishou, tuima, taekwondo, short and long weapon pair routine, and other countries confrontation event such as throw, taekwondo, karate, judo, kendo, zhangdo)

(3) Wushu gongfa series (including every kind of sing. soft and hard gongfa)

(4) Confrontation wrestling(including wushu sanda, shoot boxing, light suit short weapon fighting, taiji tuishou, taekwondo, wingchun free fighting, wingchun chisao and China throw in confrontation wrestling event etc. compre. in the same team)

(5) Taekwondo (poomsae, competitive)

(6) Health gongfa wuwu series (including yang sheng wu/fitness dance, yang sheng gongfa/Keeping Fitness Methods, calisthenics, fitness ball, fitness line dance/paiwu, Taiji Soft-Strength Ball etc.)

(7) Health qigong series (including wuqinxi, liuzijue, yijinjing, baduanjin, shierduanjin, mawangdui daoyinshu, daoyin yangshenggong shierfa, qiwu, school wu qin xi, taiji yang sheng zhang, da wu, jing ji/competitive gongfa and puji/universal gongfa )

8. Methods of registration:

(1) All the Wushu, health qigong organizations, schools throughout the world and fans in wushu may get in their entries individually or by forming teams.

(2) Every team is allowed to register for 1 leader and 1 coach. The athlete can be male or female. Groups with more than 15 competitors may designate 1 referee.

(3) Every competitor is allowed to register any event in event classification. (All items in the Appendix 1 can choose)

(4) For Group Wushu Act Performance, 5 or more people can be grouped together.

(5) Wushu all round individual championship: Athlete who takes part in any 3 single routines (including sing., pair, pair matching and confrontation pair confrontation events, but excluding confrontation wrestling and group routine series) will have an opportunity to win all-round individual championship. (barehand and weapons styles series are required).

(6) Group all-round event: If more than 8 athletes (can be male or female) in the team, they will have an opportunity to win Group all-round championship.

(7) Group total award: The number of the top three winners and the number of participants who won first three places from all the individual and group events of the delegation team. The scores are converted into the total score of the group.

(8) Category Team Award: According to the needs of schools, communities, towns, martial arts schools and enterprises, the participating teams are divided into ten categories, with a total team score award for each category (the team category number must be filled in when applying, see the instructions of the application form for the team category number)

(9) Ages and health conditions of the competitors shall be checked by the teams or by competitors themselves. The validity shall be subject to the sealed application form. In the case of any misrepresenting your age , the qualification of the competitor will be cancelled. Participating teams or individuals shall be responsible for any accidental injuries and deaths caused by health problems during the games and bear relevant medical fees. Players are to purchase personal life insurance by their own, please sign safety statement.

(10) Safety statement is to be signed, those who haven’t signed the statement will not be allowed to participate (Appendix 9) 

(11) The athletes who participate the confrontation wrestling event are required to provide the inspection certificate of physical examination and brain wave examination in hospital at or above the county level in half a month, otherwise cannot take part in a competition.

(12) Participating teams can apply the performance item for the opening ceremony and provide the performance video to the organizing committee for verification. Special Award (gold cup, silver cup, bronze cup) will be presented in the opening ceremony performance.

(13) We have a “The Contribution Award for the Global Development of Wushu” for those who have 30, 50 and above 80 persons participate in our competition. It will be graded as first, second and third and will award cash, trophy and certificate as well. The unit or people who organize over 100 people will win “Special Contribution Award” and bonus is doubled. Individuals are counted with the same contact person at the time of registration.

(14) Athletes have the opportunity to be selected and got the awards as “Wutan Shentong Award”, “Wutan Jiying Award”, “The Best Athlete Group Award”, “The Best Leader Award”, The Best Instructor Award”, “The Best Referee Award”, Spiritual Civilization Award, etc. For the requirement, another document will be recorded about the judging method.

 (15) The Chinese Wushu Duanwei (Duan Intermediate Ranking or below) Overseas Examination

All participants of the 15th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, overseas and foreign participants in the territory are eligible to apply for the Chinese Wushu Duan Ranking System (Level 1 to Level 9) and Duan Ranking Examinations for promotion to Duan Ranking (1st to 3rd Duan) and Intermediate Duan Ranking (4th to 6th Duan) in accordance with the conditions of the “Chinese Wushu Duan Ranking System” (for trial implementation). (See Appendix 2 for details)

(16) Entry Hong Kong from China Method:

1. Participants need to get the “Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau” permit. (The permit fee is at your own expense). You should go to the local police office to get the visa if you have got the permit already. You are not allowed to enter Hong Kong if you do not have the visa. The team leader, please pay special attention on it.

2. The method of coming to Hong Kong for Group or Individual participant are as follows:

i For the units belong to ‘Free transport to Hong Kong and Macau Zone”, they can apply the permit through immigration department by indicating “personal affair to Hong Kong”

ii For the units that do not belong to ‘Free Transport to Hong Kong and Macau Zone”, they can apply the permit through tourist center or police organization to apply the permit.

iii Please apply the permit as early as possible, usually the validity period of the passport visa is one year, it is better to apply two months before coming to HK. But some of the area requires the invitation letter from our committee, please contact our committee and leave your name, sex and birth in details. As for the student in Wushu school, they can make use of the winter/summer holiday to apply the permit with the invitation letter in your unit.

9. Details of Regulations:

(1) The competition comprises of single events, group events, wushu individual all-around events, group all-round events, group total points events, category team events, wushu sanda events, confrontation and wresting Events.

(2) The rules and regulations are used in this competition: “The Traditional Wushu Competition Method”, “The Sanda Competition Method” formulated by the Chinese Wrestling Association, “Health Qigong demonstration competition scoring calculation method” formulated by the Health Qigong Management Center of General China Sports Bureau and all additional rules of information will be included in this regulation.

(3) The Chinese Wushu Duanwei International Examination

    i. The organizing committee will adopt the latest “Chinese Wushu Duanwei System” (Trial) issued by the Chinese Wushu Association in 2022 and the “Implementation Method of Overseas Examination for Chinese Wushu Duanwei (Intermediate Rank and below) of the 15th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition in 2023” approved by the Chinese Wushu Association in the examination.

    ii. All Wushu Duan ranking, Duan promotion or direct examination, are required to participate in the number of barehand and weapon taolu that meet the technical requirements of different Duan ranking. We recognize the Duan Ranking with the results of the competition.

    iii. Those who are ranked in the Wushu Duan, Duan promotion or direct examination, are required to take the theory examination arranged by Hong Kong International Wushu Competition Organizing Committee.

(4) Taolu competition age categories:

i. Children (Division A):

Division A1     4 or under 4 years old (born after 1 Jan 2019)

Division A2     5 years old     (born in 2018)

Division A3     6 years old       (born in 2017)

Division A4     7 years old      (born in 2016)

Division A5    8 years old      (born in 2015)

Below 19kg, 22kg, 24kg, 27kg, 30kg, 33kg, 36 kg,39kg, 42 kg,45kg, 48kg,52kg,56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg,above 80kg

(10) Light suit short weapon fighting competition weight grades:

    Below 30kg, 33kg, 36kg, 40kg, 44kg, 48kg, 52 kg,56kg, 60 kg,65kg, 70kg,75kg,80kg, 85kg, 90kg, above 90kg

(11) International Shoot Boxing competition weight grades:

    1. Children Group A: 15kg-, 20kg, 25kg, 25kg+

    2. Children Group B: 25kg-, 30kg, 35kg, 35kg+

    3. Children Group C: 30kg-, 35kg, 40kg, 40kg+

4. Teenagers Group A: 40kg-, 45kg, 48kg, 51kg, 53kg, 53kg+

5. Teenagers Group B: 45kg-, 48kg, 51kg, 53kg, 55kg, 60kg, 63kg, 65kg, 67kg, 67kg+

6. Amateur Group: 48kg-, 51kg, 53kg, 55kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 65kg, 67kg, 70kg, 72kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 85kg+

(12) In Wushu Sanda Competition, Confrontation and Wrestling Event, the players of sanda, taiji tuishou and international confrontation and wrestling (China throw), Wingchun Chisao, Wingchun Free fighting will be grouped in the same weight, same gender, same age in the competition.

(13) Pair confrontation events

Pair confrontation events will be matched the player in the same team by themselves, the players coordination with the offensive and defensive technology in the match. Events including sanda, tuishou, tuima, short wea. pair routine, long wea. pair routine set., and confrontation, wrestling, karate, jiujitsu, kendo, zhangdao set. The requirement of the competitions: the arrangement is reasonable, the structure is rigorous, the offensive and defensive is reasonable, the content is rich. Events are regardless of weight grades, but not for the age and gender. The players with different ages in the group will count the elder one.

(14) We use the same system to judge the levels of Confrontation and Wrestling Events and Pair confrontation events. They conducted on a marking system, the full mark is 10.

(15) Taekwondo competition takes the same weight level, same gender and same age groups to confrontational game.

(16) Time limitation of all events:

i Every competition event must be finished taolu in 4 minutes(For Taijiquan, Health qigong, Mulanquan events, the arbitrator will make a beep sound to remind the athlete when they play the event after 3 mins.

The players of the competition taolu, regulation taolu and traditional taolu can delete part of the long taolu content, no point will be deducted).

ii Time of health qigong event cannot exceed 6 minutes (including single and group event).

iii Wushu sanda, Confrontation and wrestling event: players just play 1 round. Group G, H, I play 90 sec every round, Group J play 120 sec every round.

iv Taekwondo play 1 round. Every round is 90 sec.

(17) Regulation in Music

i Group routine series event: any music accompanying the performance is allowed.

ii Health Qigong: unified with 6 minutes of music.

iii No music is allowed for any other events.

(18) Group events are classified into different age group. The age group is according to the average age of the participants to confirm. (Regardless of gender)

(19) Players have to wear their own wushu and kungfu costumes or uniforms for their events or performance.

(20) Costumes, competition equipment and items for protection are prepared by the players themselves; all equipment of Light suit short weapon fighting competition are prepared by the competition organizer.

10. Rankings and awards:

(1) For single events (including health qigong) top 8 ranks will be recorded according to taolu, age and gender in the same event no.

(2) Awards are presented to the top 8 places of pair routines, pair, Confrontation and wrestling event, pair matching, pair confrontation, taekwondo according to different classifications, age groups, gender group, male and female group.

(3) For confrontation events, sing., pair, pair matching, pair confrontation, Top 3 players will receive gold, silver and bronze trophy and certificates respectively. Rank 4-8 will receive certificates.

(4) For group events, heath qigong in group events, taekwondo in group events, taekwondo dance (Gymnastics) and taekwondo comprehensive events top 8 ranks will be according to event no., age (average age) (Regardless of gender). Top 3 players will receive gold, silver and bronze trophy and certificates respectively. Rank 4-8 will receive certificates. Rank 9 and below will receive outstanding performance certificates.

(5) Single, pair, Confrontation and wrestling event, pair matching, pair confrontation and group events ranks of Mainland China, and overseas HK, Taiwan, Macau, two kinds of participants are appraised separately. (Except individual all-round, Group all-round event, Group total points, Confrontation wrestling ser.)

  (6) Individual All-round Championship: There are 6 age groups, regardless of country or region, and the top 6 places will be awarded to male and female. (See Item 9 for award method)

(7) ‘King of the Kings’ Award: Among the champions of all age groups, regardless of country or region, the award will be presented to one of them. (See Item 9 for award method)

(8) Individual “Wu Ying” Award: Among the champions of all age groups, regardless of country or region, the award will be presented to the top 11 places. (See Item 9 for award method)

(9) Group All-round Championship: The top 6 Wushu teams will be selected regardless of gender, age group, country or region. (See Item 9 for award method)

(10) Group Total Points Championship: The top 3 Wushu teams will be selected regardless of gender, age group, country or region. (See Item 9 for award method)

(11) Category Team Total Points Championship: Regardless of gender, age group and region, there are ten categories: 1. Infant 2. Elementary school 3. Secondary school 4. University 5. Wu guan (including club) 6. Martial arts school (including sports school) 7. Society and association 8. Community and street 9. Village and town 10. Industrial and mining enterprises (business). The number of athletes in each category and the top 3 in each category will be used to calculate the total number of points (excluding wushu individual all-round and wushu group all-round).

(12) Sanda Championship:One champion will be selected in each gender, category and level. (See Item 9 for award method)

(13) For the rankings and awards of Light suit short weapon fighting competition and International Shoot Boxing competition, please see Appendix 7, Appendix 8)

(14) All participants of this competition will receive tokens of appreciation.

11. Championship (cash) awards methods:

(1) Individual All-round Championship:

i. Scores calculation methods:

1 Final personal score calculation method: the final score should collect from each individual competitor’s top 3 score of total 3 games (must have quan series and weapon series), no matter how many events he or she participates sing., pair, pair matching and pair confrontation events. The person holding highest final score will be the champion, the second one should be the first runner-up and so on.

2 If all-round individual events have the same result, we will count the people whose got first prizes more in 3 all-round events, and then the people who got second prizes more and so on. If it comes across again the same result, then we will count the whole event (including the other event) to get the people who got more in the first prizes, and then the people who got second prizes more and so on. If it comes across again the same result, we will count the highest score. If it comes across again the same result, we will count the second-highest score. If it comes across again the same result, we will count the one who achieve more items (include all items). If still equal, winner will be determined by sortilege.

ii Individual All-round Championship Bonus:

Regardless of country and region, we divide the groups into children (Division A), teenagers (Division B), youth (Division C), Middle aged (Division D), Middle aged (division E), Elderly (division F) in different gender (Male and Female). There is 1st place to 6th place per division, and total of 72.

Iii The championship prize will be incorporated into the “The King of Kings” Award., 2nd place: HK$1,500.00, 3rd place: HK$800.00, 4th to 6th place: HK$300.00; 1st to 3rd place will be awarded trophies, medals and certificates, 4th to 6th place winners will be awarded certificates.

(2)“King of the Kings” & “Wu Ying” Award

Who win the individual all-round championship will award the prize on the evening of August 16, 2023 Closing dinner banquet and participate the ‘King of the Kings’ award at the same time.

Anyone who has won the male or female Wushu Individual All-round Competition in every division must participate the evening party for award presentation to compete for the “The King of Kings” Award and the “Wu Ying” Award. The organizing committee will present “The King of Kings” Award of the 15th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition to a person on the spot, and the award-winner will receive bonus of HK$10,000, trophy, medal and certificate of honor. Others will receive the “Wu Ying” Award and HK$2,500, a silver medal and a certificate of honor separately.

(3) Group All-round Championship:

i Group all-round event calculation method:

1A team with not less than 8 competitors will be regarded as scoring unit. Scores for teams of more than 8 players will be settled by the total scores of the best 8 players. Team with the highest score will win the champion; team with the second highest score the first runner-up, etc.

2If group all-round events have the same result, we will count to get the 8 competitors’ single items first prizes more in group all-round event, and then to get second prizes more and so on. If still equal, winner will be determined by sortilege.

ii Regardless of gender, age group, country and region, there are 1st place to 6th place, total 6 groups will be awarded.

iii Group Championship Bonus: 1st place: HK$8,000.00, 2nd place: HK$3,000.00, 3rd place: HK$2,000.00, 4th to 6th place: HK$1,000.00; 1st to 3rd place will be awarded cups, group medals and group certificates; 4th to 6th place will be awarded cups and group certificates.

iv. The top three groups which win the Group all-round championship will be awarded the prize on the evening of August 16, 2023 Closing dinner banquet.

(4) Group Total Points Championship

i. Group Total Points calculation methods:

1With the sum calculation of the top three converted scores, the delegation got from single and group events (excluding individual all-around, group all-around event ranking). The group will win the champion with the highest score, with second score will win the second prize and with third score will win the third place.

2Converted scores methods:

The method of calculating the total score of the group: Each participant in each team can record one point (The points increase with the increase of the number of participants)

Single event (include all single, pair, pair matching event): The first: 5 points, the second: 3 points, the third: 1 point.

Group event: The first: 15 points, the second: 9 points, the third: 3 points.

3If group total points events have the same result, we will count to get the group which rank is former of the group all-round. If it comes across again the same result, we will count to get the group which got more first prizes.  If still equal, winner will be determined by sortilege.

ii Regardless of gender, age group, country and region, there are 1st place to 3rd place, total 3 groups will be awarded.

iii Group Total Points Championship bonus: 1st place: HK$8,000.00, 2nd place: HK$3,000.00, 3rd place: HK$2,000.00. 1st to 3rd place will be awarded trophies and group total points certificates.

iv. The top three groups which win the Group Total Points Championship will be awarded the prize on the evening of August 16, 2023 Closing dinner banquet.

v. The score of Light suit short weapon fighting competition and International Shoot Boxing competition will not be counted into the group’s result this year.

(5)Sanda Championship:

     This event uses a single-cycle knockout. Top 1 will be recorded according to different gender (Male and Female) and every different level. It will divide into 4 age groups: children (Division G), teenagers (Division H), youth (Division I) and adult (Division J).

The number of participants in each group is 8 to 15, the winner will receive 500 yuan.

The number of participants in each group is 16 to 31, the winner will receive 1000 yuan.

The number of participants in each group is 32 to 63, the winner will receive 3000 yuan.

The number of participants in each group is 64 or above, the winner will receive 5000 yuan.

12. Relevant charges:

(1) Participate in the Overall Service Package:

i Registration fee: RMB380/person. (Team leader, coach, athletes and team followers are required to pay the registration fee).

ii Convention fee: RMB180/person. Non-participants are not required to pay the convention fee)

iii Single and pair event fee: RMB380/person/event.

iv Group event fee: RMB200/person/event.

v Sanda Competition event fee: RMB480/person/event.

vi Overall service fee: RMB3380/ person. They can stay at four star hotel from August 14-18, 2023. (two persons in a double bed room, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th four nights and all beverage(15-18 breakfast, 15 lunch, 14,15 dinner and 16 closing dinner banquet is free. (Including closing dinner banquet) (Free activity in 16, lunch needs to self-care. Free activity in 17, lunch and dinner need to self-care). The fee of the transportation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, or pick up from Hong Kong airport and the transportation between the hotel and competition field are all free.

vii Those who under 11 years old (Group A) competitor accompany with their parents, join our standard overall service package, if they want extra bed(two people use one bed), one pay full charges and another one has a special price RMB2780.00/person.

viii The price difference for a single room is $2480.

viiii Accompanied referee committee fee: RMB2200/person. The referee needs to have 2nd Grade - National Wushu license and had several times of working experience can apply for as a referee. The organizing committee will unify to deal with the work visa in Hong Kong (apply for the work permit visa need 3 months, May 1, 2023 is deadline). In order to apply for the Hong Kong working visa more smoothly, the organizing committee will not pay any salary, and travel expenses standards in accordance with the regulations of working personnel of state meal travel expense standards. No financial support for overshoot expense.

(2) Not participate in the Overall Service Package:

i Registration fee: RMB380/person. (Team leader, coach, athletes and team followers are required to pay the registration fee).

ii Convention fee: RMB180/person. (Non-participants are not required to pay the convention fee)

iii Sing. and pair event fee: RMB380/person/event. (At least two entries are required for those not staying with the team)

   (4) Those representatives or competitors who want to stay longer in Hong Kong for shopping and touring after the competition, they must inform our committee by phone to 13423906906, but they must pay for their own. (See details in Appendix 10)

13. Application:

(1) Application Deadline: before 13th July, 2023, 24:00 (Speed post)

(2) Please remember to bring the following document before registered. (If any of the documents have not been submitted, the application is considered invalid.)

i Registration form (Appendix 12), Registration form can be downloaded from the computer(Online applicants must download and print the registration form after registration). Participant should remember to stamp or sign the form.

ii Registration charges (Please see Appendix 13);(Online applicants must download and print the total registration charges form after registration);

iii Copy of identity card or copy of residential account, or passport (choose one), and visa for the HK and Macau;

iv A signed Safety statement (Please see Appendix 9)

v A copy of remittance payments: (all participation charges)

(3) The competition committee encourages the competitors register on-line website: http://www.5u5s.com. The teams register on-line can modify the registration information before registration deadline, or not modify the information. The team needs to post the under material to the organizing committee in 2 days after deadline:

1. Copy of identity card (ID, residence booklet or passport)

2. A signed Safety statement (Please see Appendix 9)

3. A copy of remittance payments: (all participation charges: Registration fee, Convention fee, Examination fee, Duanwei service fee, Event fee, Overall service fee, etc.)

Registration online or post will affirm succeed after all participation charges were paid.

 (4) Change registration information:

After the registration form has been sent out, any changes of the registration content due to the special cases need to send in a written application form before July 30th 2023. You must pay the corresponding fee whether the registration has ended or not. The change fee is RMB200.00/per item. (e.g.: item number, name of taolu, name, gender, age group, etc).

(5) The application fee for the Chinese Wushu Duan Overseas Examination will be remitted directly to the competition account for collection at the time of registration. The theory examination paper will be collected at the time of registration (RMB 200 yuan for the examination paper administrative service fee) and handed over to the competition department before the end of the competition.

(6) Those who are not able to participate the competition need to send in a letter of excuse and the certificate of diagnosis from county hospital to us before 30th July 2023, 24:00. The organizing committee will refund 60% of competition charges. After that, no refund can be claimed.

(7) Competition schedules, events and orders will be published on Hong Kong Wushu School Co., Ltd. (http://www.hkwushuschool.com & http://www.5u5s.com) 10 days before the competition.

(8) All teams should arrive at Hong Kong and register in Hong Kong on 14th August, 2023. All details for the time and place for registration will be informed later by e-mail, Wechat or phone. Please write clearly when doing registration, lest delay the competition.

(9) For the delegation which is join ‘accommodation, traffic, meal package’, the representative should e-mail the flight schedule, arrival time and number of people to the committee before 30th July, 2023 (E-mail: info@hkwushuschool.com or hkwushu@126.com ), so that we can arrange a pickup service.

(10) For ‘Accommodation, traffic, meal package’, those who arrange themselves or delegate the domestic travel agency, the representative must register at the appointed location. Please pay attention to any news from our competition and report on time. (Please refer to the website)

(11) There is no conference for the competition. All details for the time and place of the competition will be informed later by mobile message, Wechat, or give the publication notice.

14. Referee and arbitration committee:

(1) The formation of the arbitration committee and guidelines set by the arbitration committee members strictly follow the arbitration committee regulations.

(2) Referees are appointed by the teams and those volunteers recommended by various wushu associations which certified by the organizing committee.

15. The organizing committee will inform fellow participants regarding any additional information formally, if any.

16. The interpretation of all the regulations and rules of the Games is subject to the understanding of the Hong Kong International Wushu Competition Organizing Committee.
