Chinese martial arts rank in the 1 7th Hong Kong International Martial Arts Competition in 202 5
Overseas examination implementation methods
 
The Organizing Committee of the 1 7th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition in 202 5 will hold the Overseas Examination for the Chinese Martial Arts Dan System at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 20 to 24,202 5. The examination will be conducted based on the latest "Chinese Martial Arts Dan System" (Trial) issued by the Chinese Wushu Association in 2022, with an evaluation team dispatched by the Chinese Wushu Association to oversee the exam. The following is a summary of the implementation methods:
 
I. Application qualifications
        All participants from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, overseas, and foreign nationals within the territory who are eligible for the 1 7th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition may apply for the promotion of Chinese Wushu Dan levels (from Level 1 to Level 9) including the initial level (Level 1 to Level 3), intermediate level (Level 4 to Level 6), and advanced level (Level 7 to Level 9) according to the conditions of the "Chinese Wushu Dan System (Trial)."
 
2. Application methods                                                                                                   
(1) Those who apply for the Chinese martial arts level and rank promotion examination and rank examination must, in accordance with the "Chinese Martial Arts Rank System Management Measures" (Trial), apply for the corresponding level and rank of boxing routines and weapon routines with corresponding techniques and quantities.
(2) All martial arts level and level promotion candidates must provide a copy of the original Chinese martial arts level certificate when registering.
(3) All those who originally have no martial arts level or rank and apply for the examination of martial arts level or rank shall provide materials and relevant photocopies that meet the requirements of the application for the level or rank at the time of registration.
(4) Fill in the "Chinese Martial Arts Dan System Level and Dan Application Form" and attach two 1-inch recent photos, Hong Kong resident identity card, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan returnee certificate or passport (for overseas people), and submit to the organizing committee at the time of registration.
 
3. Examination form
(1) Technical examination: the same level and rank of boxing and weapons shall be examined and the results shall be recognized.
(2) Theoretical examination
1. Segment level: martial arts operation standards, understand the content of martial arts.
2. Beginner level: master the content of martial virtue, understand the basic knowledge of martial arts.
3. Mid-level: an exam of basic martial arts knowledge.
                      
4. Segment level and segment position recognition
(1) Segment level: a technical achievement of more than 6 points.
(2) Initial level:
1. A routine score of more than 7 points.
2. Second paragraph: A routine score of more than 7.5 points.
3. Three segments: both boxing and weapons scores reached more than 7.5 points.
(3) Middle level:
1. Four paragraphs: both boxing and weapons scores are above 8 points; theoretical scores are above 75 points.
2. Five sections: both boxing and weapons scores are above 8.5 points; theoretical scores are above 80 points.
3. Six sections: both boxing and weapons scores are above 9 points; theoretical scores are above 85 points.
 
(4) High level:
1. Seven segments: both boxing and weapon scores are above 8 points; theoretical score is above 75 points.
2. Eight sections: both boxing and weapons scores are above 8.5 points; theoretical scores are above 80 points.
3. Nine points: both boxing and weapon scores are above 9 points; theoretical scores are above 85 points.
 
V. Examination Results Recognition and Certificate Issuance
All participants in the Chinese Martial Arts Dan system and the examination of the Chinese Martial Arts Dan level from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, overseas and foreign nationals will be eligible to obtain the Chinese Martial Arts Dan certificate and emblem.
 
6. Application fees
(1) Hong Kong residents
Registration fee: HK $500 per person
Evaluation fee: HK $700 per person
Jin Duanfei: Duan level
Grade I HK $150 Grade II HK $150 Grade III HK $150 Grade IV HK $150 Grade V HK $150 
Grade 6 HK $150 Grade 7 HK $150 Grade 8 HK $150 Grade 9 HK $150

(2) Residents of Macao, Taiwan and overseas
Registration fee: $60 per person;
Evaluation fee: 50 US dollars per person
Jin Duanfei: Duan level
Level 1 US $3 0, level 2 US $3 0, level 3 US $3 0, level 4 US $3 0, and level 5 US $3 0         
Sixth grade US $3.07, seventh grade US $3.08, eighth grade US $3.09, ninth grade US $3.09      
One: US $60, two: US $90, three: US $130

VII. Application Regulations  
(1) Those who want to advance to the level of section or rank must apply for the promotion and rank examination on the basis of their original rank, and they cannot pass the exam beyond the rank. For example: if they have three sections, they can only apply for the fourth section, not the fifth section or above.
(2) All preschool and school-age children can apply for examination at the section level.
(3) Time regulations for promotion to section level,
1. Promotion at the level of a section: you may apply for promotion at the level of a section once every six months or after completing 48 class hours (each class hour is not less than 45 minutes).
2. Promotion from the initial level:
(1) Preschool and school-age children who have obtained grade 9 for half a year can advance to grade 1 examination.
(2) Children who can accurately master the single practice content of any segment from any boxing style in the "Chinese Martial Arts Dan System Series Tutorial," or a corresponding single practice routine composed of segments from the "Chinese Martial Arts Dan System Series Tutorial," and who meet the criteria for non-preschool and school-age children in Sanda, as outlined in the "Wushu Sanda Dan System Promotion Evaluation Manual," may apply for a segment examination.
(3) After obtaining one or two segments, one year must be completed before applying for the promotion examination.
3. Mid-level promotion: After obtaining third dan to fifth dan, one must be full of two years before applying for promotion examination.
4. High level promotion: After obtaining third to fifth degree, one must be full of two years before applying for promotion examination.
 
VIII. Notes
1. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. If you cannot take the exam due to illness or injury, you must submit a withdrawal application 15 days before the competition. After approval, the assessment fee and promotion fee (except for the registration fee) can be refunded.
2. If the evaluation level does not meet the confirmation requirements, the evaluation service fee will not be refunded.
 
IX. Right of interpretation
This implementation method is only applicable to this rank test. It will be continuously improved and supplemented according to the development needs of Chinese martial arts ranking system overseas. The interpretation right of the ranking system belongs to Chinese Wushu Association.
