Golden Bauhinia Square

It was named after the “Forever Blooming Bauhinia” Sculpture (Golden Bauhinia) was placed in the square, where the ceremony for the handover of Hong Kong was held in July 1997. The Sculpture is a gift from the Central Government to mark the widespread joy of the people at the return of the territory to the Motherland after more than 150 years.
